How can I ensure that my candles always look their best?

When candles are kept in warm, humid environments or exposed to bright light for lengthy periods of time, they may fade or lose their color. Long-term candle exhibition under fluorescent lights, direct sunshine, or other sources of bright light is not something we advise. When the temperature rises above 80 degrees Fahrenheit, wax will soften. Therefore, if your candles are kept for a long time, it is recommended to store them in a cold, dry spot.

Which type of wax do you employ?

Which type of Wicks do you employ?

The most common type of wicks used are cotton wicks. No Lead wicks are used in any candles.

Should I actually cut the wick?

Before lighting the candle, you should cut the wick to 1/4″. If your flame ever becomes too big and you see smoke or soot, just put it out, trim it, and light it again.

Problems may arise if your wick is not kept properly trimmed. All candles’ wicks have the potential to “mushroom” at the top, which can cause excessive flickering, smoke, and/or soot. Maintaining a properly trimmed wick extends the life and safety of your candle. Additionally, it can stop your wick from curling back into the wax, which is a common issue with wicks that don’t have cores.

Why is my candle tunneling?

All of our formulas at FS Blends, which include wax, scent, and wicks, we employ superior products that have undergone rigorous testing. While it doesn’t guarantee that this problem won’t arise, it greatly lowers the likelihood of it happening if you burn candle for 3 to 4 hours every time.

After burning, my wick has a mushroom bloom head on it. It is what?

Any type of wick and wax can develop a carbon buildup, sometimes referred to as a “mushroom.” It occurs more frequently in candles with strong fragrances because the fragrance oil rises through the wick while the candle burns. It is quite normal, however as was indicated above, it must be eliminated by cutting the wick before relighting.

The mushroom head serves as a helpful reminder that “hey, I need to trim my wick,” in a sort. (Please keep in mind that you should wait until the candle has had plenty of time to cool and solidify before attempting to trim the wick. Otherwise, wick fragments might go into the wax.)

How can I stop the candle from smoking when I put out the flame?

A “Wick Snuffer,” which puts out flames without producing smoke, is perfect if you have one. If the candle’s lid is heat- and fire-resistant and suitable for usage, you can also utilize it. Within seconds, the candle’s flame will be extinguished by the lid.

Do you deliver on weekends and all other days of the week?

On this, we err on the side of caution. We will attempt to restrict shipments to earlier in the week if high weather or excessive heat are anticipated. By doing this, candles won’t spend the weekend sitting in hot trucks. To lessen the chance of your candles remaining on a hot porch for hours or days, please make sure to schedule someone home to take deliveries (especially during the summer).

We advise having deliveries made to a location where you know someone will be there because packages sent to your house will be placed on the front porch, which is undesirable on hot days. Aside from your home, if someone is there, a friend’s or family member’s residence, or even, with permission, your place of employment.

We also try to ship early in the week as a courtesy to prevent items from being left in warehouses and vehicles over the weekend.

Will you deliver to PO boxes?

What happens if a product is flawed or broken when it is delivered?

What happens if I truly dislike the perfume I ordered? Can I exchange it?

We regrettably do not often allow swaps based on personal scent preferences, unless there is a candle issue. To assist you in making a wise choice, we offer to include scent profiles and notes within each product description. If you don’t enjoy a certain aroma, chances are a friend, coworker, or family member will. Candles also make wonderful presents.

When my candle jars and containers run out of wax, can I refill or reuse them?

While we are sympathetic to efforts to decrease waste, we do not advise refilling our jars so they may be used again as candles. Glass becomes more fragile when it develops bumps and scratches from use, which can result in shattering, splitting, or damage to the glass’s substructure. Buttons, nails, cotton balls, potpourri, seashells, or anything else you would like to showcase make excellent holders for a variety of items around your house in our jars. Additionally, along with other glass jars, most regional recycling organizations accept empty candle jars.

Why does the bottom of most candles still include half an inch of wax and instructions to stop using the candle?

It is strictly a safety concern; thus, we advise stopping the use when the wax level is half an inch or less over the jar’s bottom. As the wick approaches the base, the bottom of the glass becomes heated, which increases the risk of cracking, fracturing, or other damage. For increased safety, we also advise burning all candles on heat-resistant surfaces.
